New Courthouse
- The Board of Supervisors on January 7, 2019 approved a construction contract with Johnson Carlier LLC of Tempe to build a new Courthouse in Kingman. The new Superior Court building will be built on the parking lot just east side of the current historic Mohave County Courthouse. The new courthouse will be a four-story structure approximately, 66,400 square-feet and house both the Clerk of Court offices and seven courtrooms and related office space. The first floor will serve public business, with courtrooms and related space on the second and third floors. The fourth floor will house the judge’s chambers and related staff offices.
- There will be a secure holding area for the handling of in-custody defendants and state of the art electronic equipment throughout the building to ensure access to justice for all. The new building will be connected to the existing historic courthouse via an enclosed bridge on the north side of the Courthouse
- Construction on the new courthouse is anticipated to start the week of April 1st. The work area will be fenced off which primarily includes the parking lot east of the courthouse. Portions of Pine Street will also be closed directly behind the courthouse as well during construction.
